Managing Ads

Posting an ad on localbook.org is easy and simple. Just follow these simple steps:

1. 1. Click on "Place an Ad" link in the header.
2. 2. Select a Category & City to post.
3. 3. Based on your category selection, we will display the form, just fill the details and click on "Submit".

Your ad will appear within a few minutes and remain active for 365 days on localbook.org.

There may be several reasons why your listing is not visible on Localbook

Reasons: 

1. You may have deleted your listing. Sign-in and go to My Accounts>Active listings -  Here you will find all your active listings.

2. Your listing may have been marked as SPAM via several users due to which it might get deactivated or removed from website.

To avoid this - Make sure your listings are valid, ethical, legal and should not be offensive. 

3. Duplicate listings require moderation and might be marked as spam leading to deactivation of listing. 

To avoid this - Do not post duplicate listings.

Note: Changing the location or few words in title or description will not make listing unique if you have allready posted similar listings.

If your images are very large, they may take extra time to upload, especially if your internet connection is a bit slower than others. We recommend that you try making your images smaller by using photo editing software on your computer. You can also try adjusting the settings on your camera so that pictures are saved at a more reasonable size.

Allowed Maximum Size - 1024 KB.

All ads on Localbook.org will remain active for 365 days. Before the ad meets it expiry date, we will send you an email to renew it. Just click on the activation link in that mail to renew it. Otherwise ignore the mail.

We have recently enabled a limit of 7 Max ads published per week and 30 Max ads published per month.

Note: Please note that posting an Ad in an incorrect category will consume the limit, even if it has been later changed to a more appropriate correct category. 

On an Ad page, you can see an “Views”  mentioning the number of views. This shows that your Ad has been seen by as many people visiting Localbook. 

To get good responses for your Ad, please ensure the below: -

• A comprehensive description: Mention the relevant Ad details such as title/description and ensure to provide complete information such as item specification, size, shape, colour, design, etc.
• Clear resolution photograph(s): Always upload a clear image showing the item properly. Please ensure that the image is original and reflects the item as described. Do not include any stock or human image.
• Competitive pricing: Please ensure to keep realistic pricing for your Ad. It should reflect the market value of the item and correspond to actual item condition.
• Appropriate category: Ensure to post the Ad in relevant category. E.g. post mobile phone in mobiles and not electronics.
• Premium Services: You have the option to opt for paid services such as featured Ad or boost to top. They give more visibility to your Ad & help receive much more responses. To know more, click here.

Logon to your Localbook account, go to "My Account" page, click on the link "Messages" in the menu list, you can see the responses received for your ads on Localbook.

Logon to your Localbook account, go to "My Account", Next click on "Active listings" and choose an ad you wish to edit, click on the link Modify, modify the ad details and click on "Submit".
That's it. Your ad details will be updated immediately.

Logon to your Localbook account, go to "My Account", Next click on "Active listings" and choose an ad you wish to delete, click on the link "Delete".
That's it. Your ad will be removed from Localbook immediately.
